Professional welder/generator built with an EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) engine to provide powerful multi-purpose stick, MIG, TIG and pipe welding capabilities.
Features
A WELDER FOR ALL SEASONS
Make the Ranger 305 G your portable welding station - general stick and downhill pipe, Touch Start™ TIG, MIG, and flux-cored wire capability. Choose the Ranger 305 G EFI (electronic fuel injection) for easier starts in cold weather and lower fuel consumption, with no choke starting required. The 9,500 watt continuous single-phase AC generator powers motors starting, tools and inverter welders for extended range and process capability.
- Digital weld meters monitor actual welding output
- 12-gallon fuel capacity allows for extended operation
- Electric fuel pump helps avoid vapor lock during high-altitude operation
Kohler® Gasoline Engine
· 25 HP EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) for easier starts in cold weather and lower fuel use!
· Electric fuel pump to avoid vapor lock at high altitude operation.
Multi-Process Welding
· Excellent DC multi-process welding for general purpose stick, downhill pipe (stick), TIG, cored-wire and MIG (CO2 and mixed gas).
· Only compact gasoline welder in North America rated at 29V for 300 amps of stick or CV welding.
· CV wire welding with up to 5/64 in. (2.0 mm) diameter electrodes.
Digital Weld Meters
· Digital weld meters for amps and volts makes it easy to precisely pre-set your procedures and monitor actual welding output.
Superior Arc Performance
· Lincoln Electric Chopper Technology® - provides easy starts, a smooth arc, low spatter and optimal bead appearance.
Peak Single-Phase AC Generator Power for Motor Starting
· 12,000 watts peak
· 9,500 watts continuous for high capacity needs such as a back-up generator, powering a Lincoln Electric Invertec® inverter welder. Also use for lights, a grinder or other power tools.
· AC generator voltage is constant at 120V or 240V at any weld dial setting.
Rugged Reliability
· Welding and AC Generator Outputs rated at 104ºF (40ºC).

FAQs
The VRTEX® Mobile simulates the GMAW (short arc, spray, pulse and STT® metal transfers) and FCAW (Self-shielded and Gas-shielded) processes in the standard system. SMAW (E6010, E6013, and E7018) is an optional hardware and software kit.
SMAW (Optional on VRTEX® Mobile)
- E6010 (Fleetweld®® 5P+)
- E7018 (Excalibur® 7018)
- E6013 (Fleetweld® 37)
GMAW
- Short Arc (.035” SuperArc® L-56)
- Axial Spray (.045” SuperArc® L-56)
- Pulse (.045” SuperArc® L-56)
- STT® Surface Tension Transfer® (.045” SuperArc® L-56)
FCAW
- Gas-shielded .045 “ (UltraCore® 71A85)
- Self-Shielded 5/64” (Innershield® NR-232)
The VRTEX® Mobile comes with 3 welding coupons (Flat Plate, Tee Joint, Groove Joint) that can be used in limited positions.
- Plate: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical and Overhead
- Pipe: 2G, 5G and 6G
- The VRTEX® Mobile supports limited positions:
- Plate: Flat, Horizontal and Vertical
- Push and drag GMAW techniques
- Stringer beads
- Weave techniques – straight, triangle and box weave
Recently released! The VRTEX® has now expanded language support for Portuguese (Brazilian) and Russian.
Input current: 4A @ 115, 2A @ 230
- The VRTEX® system requires a space of 8’ L x 8’ D x 8’ H (2.4 m x 2.4 m x 2.4 m).
- When operating multiple units in one location, alternate between standard and alternate frequency systems (unique part numbers are identified).
- The VRTEX® system is not designed for operation in harsh environments. Recommendations are listed in the instruction manual.
- Avoid magnetic fields, conductive and high frequency objects and processes.
- An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) may be required for protection of the system from power irregularities and/or disruptions
