Good machine

Overall I am pleased with the performance. The directions are not great, but was not hard to figure out. As stated in other reviews, check all bolts and nuts prior to use. Be prepared to break some teeth till you get used to using this grinder. I would suggest NOT to force it side to side. Apply gentle down pressure while using. Some spots you will go straight down and then start your sideway motions. I would also suggest after about 4-6 hrs. of use, I would change the oil. Also re-torque the tooth bolts. When you replace teeth, make sure you have the right tooth for the direction you are replacing. You get 1 set of replacement teeth included ( you will use them). I would suggest ordering a second or even a third set just to have on hand (depends on how much you are going to use this). You can get them online for around $160 a set. Pay attention on mounting the throttle (right side). It does not tell you, but I put mine so Low speed is forward and High is back toward you. You have to push in on throttle button to move same. Grind at high speed. The engine is easy to start. Make sure you have both wiring harness plugged in ( won't start if not). Make sure to add oil prior to starting. On first use, I suggest starting motor ( rest stand DOWN and secure) and let idle for around 5-10 min ( increasing speed and letting off while warming up and breaking in). Make sure to remove tow bar prior to use. If you have a ATV or such, this makes moving it around so easy. Also pushing this by hand on rough ground is not easy vs. pulling in work area. Make sure you are NOT letting cutting teeth hit ground in areas where you may have your telephone or CATV buried. Sometimes they are only a few inches below ground. You will figure out while using which level to set the handle bar. Around waist level or a little below works well for me. Also bring you a rake to move debris. It will pile up behind the wheels. Keep an eye on the starter rope housing as leaves and debris will collect on the air inlet slots. Not sure but this might restrict the air cooling of the motor. If you start to feel a lot of vibration (you will know) you have broken a tooth or two. When finished for the day with machine fairly level, turn the gas (red) handle back toward handle bar and let run till cuts off ( about 5 sec). I would also suggest wearing gloves and safety glasses ( supplied with unit). This is like anything else, take care of it and a little care and it should last a fairly long time. Sorry for such a long post but I read many before buying mine and it helped between deciding between this make and another brand. This one seemed to have the most bang for the buck and was a little better price plus the extras you got included. The closer the stump is to the ground, the easier and faster it will be. For what it cost to have stumps ground by someone else, I figured for as many as I have and can work on them at my convience, it would be the better move to just buy my own and do it my self. Good luck and hope this helps someone.

Removed 20 Stumps So Far!!!

Have removed about twenty stumps, only about 150 to go. Easy to use, the trailer hitch is a saver. I hook it up to my four wheeler and drag it around the woods. The motor does an excellent job, no bogging down and is quite.
